let me just say something about freddie highmore. freddie highmore has done his homework when it comes to playing norman bates in bates motel. he must have studied anthony perkins, anthony’s work, everything about him and how he moved, spoke, everything in psycho to a fucking t. it’s there. it’s all there. sometimes freddie will do something in bates motel, and it could be just a simple, insignificant little thing, something where you’d blink and miss it, and i’ll just sit there like “oh my god” because it gives me such anthony perkins feelings. yet despite this, he isn’t wholly imitating/trying to be anthony perkins or anthony perkin’s norman bates. he’s staying true to character, in my opinion, but he also brings himself, his own talent, into the role. this fucking young man comes off more professional and mature and dedicated an actor to me than half the adult actors in hollywood, ok. so, if that doesn’t all fucking impress you, if you’re not impressed by freddie highmore, then don’t speak to me.
